Alarm for the ears that can save lives: If many people are threatened by catastrophes or accidents, sirens should again warn the population. They are loud and effective, and work at any time of the day or night. In the district of Paderborn, a project for the digital control of sirens, unique in Germany, has started. The siren on the roof of the rescue station in Altenbeken-Buke is the first in the district to be controlled via the digital TETRA network.
